STORY BEHIND THIS WINE
Located in Bechtheim, at the heart of Rheinhessen's esteemed winemaking traditions, the Geil-Bierschenk family follows a philosophy rooted in natural practices, expert craftsmanship, and rigorous technical standards. As members of the VDP (Verband Deutscher Prädikatsweingüter), they uphold the association’s commitment to producing wines of the highest quality. This dedication, along with hard work and patience, is evident in every bottle. Johannes and Elisabeth Geil-Bierschenk, together with their daughters Lene and Sofie Rosa, and Karl and Monika Geil-Bierschenk, continue this proud legacy.
Germany has 11,787 hectares of pinot noir, making it the world’s third-largest grower of this grape varietal — just behind France and the United States. Chief wine maker Jonannes Geil-Biershenk has been at the forefront of producing beautifully soft earthy approachable styles of Spatburgunder (Pinot Noir) that are thrilling Pinot enthusiasts world-wide. Delicately powerful.
